The Exit Hesi Test is supposed to prepare students for the Nclex but in my experience from taking the Hesi and the NCLEX LPN, the tests are significantly different. Don’t rely on NCLEX contemplate books alone, buy at least two Hesi review books and employ them. I used Hesi and NCLEX books to study for the Exit Hesi Test and NCLEX books when I studied for the NCLEX. Although the tests are similar, they are not the same which is why it is best to use a book geared toward the exam that you are going to take.

Read through the Hesi Review books and do hundreds if not thousands of practice questions. Do at least 100 practice questions per day for at least a month prior to your Exit Hesi Test. If you don’t have time to do that many questions, do as many as you can as often as you can. Go ahead and do some practice NCLEX questions as well but focus on the Hesi style questions.

School should have prepared you for the basic information that you need to pass the Exit Hesi Test, you just need to build on this information. Do not take the time to go back through all of your notes from class or your school books. As you read through your Hesi review book and take your practice questions, use your school books and notes only to perceive up information that you do not know or understand. You will not have time or likely the energy to look through everything so only focus on your weak points as you study.

The worst thing that you could do before your Exit Hesi Test is stay up all night studying and then pull through McDonald’s for breakfast on the intention to the test. What you need to do is what you have learned since grade school, sleep and eat. The night before the test you should get at least 7-8 hours of sleep, staying up all night studying won’t abet you because you will retain very little information and your brain will function slower due to lack of sleep. When you get up in the morning eat a high protein lite breakfast such as eggs and wheat toast. Don’t overdue it on the morning caffeine either or you may salvage yourself feeling anxious and jittery during your Exit Hesi Test.
